Chapter 2 is one of my favorites--and one of the dopest if you ask me. In chapter 2 is where God taught me HOW to receive the wisdom I was seeking and asking for. Verses 1-3 lays out specific instructions and teaches you exactly HOW to ask (remember, ch.1 STATED giving INSTRUCTIONS was one of Proverbs purposes and intents).

you, so that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to
understanding yes, if you CRY OUT for discernment, and LIFT UP
YOUR VOICE for understanding...."
Right off the muscle he says in order for this to work, in order for you to get what your asking for, the Bible says you have to RECEIVE my words... and then APPLY.
The first instructions is given right there, you have to RECEIVE and APPLY.
You have to 1st. receive it, then 2nd. apply it. It ain't gone work if you don't receive it and apply it!
Well, what is He asking you to apply? Well look at verse 3, what does He say to do in verse 3? He says if you CRY OUT for discernment, and LIFT UP YOUR VOICE for understanding. You have to "cry out"--not in your mind, asking or praying silently, He says you have to "lift up your voice", actually use your voice and speak out loud. God Loves to give wisdom and understanding to people who are SERIOUS about it.
For me personally, when I started literally CRYING OUT for wisdom, and LIFTING UP MY VOICE for understanding... THATS when God really started opening up my mind to understanding and pouring His wisdom into me. When I sought for it diligently, like looking for hidden treasures like He says in verse 4, THATS when I began to understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God as He promised in verse 5. I received His words and I applied it, and He gave it...
That's what stood out to me....
